Education in Bhavana Bodhigun Vocational College brings Dharma according to religious principles into teaching, learning, and even everyday life. From waking up until going to bed, we train all students to connect to themselves in body, speech, and mind to grow up into good adults for their family, society, and nation.
Course overview
At Bhavana Bodhigun Vocational College, our curriculum emphasizes teaching students to train and gain real knowledge with professionals. Students intern with 4 & 5-star tourism business operators to gain the most suitable skills for their chosen career course. They are able to learn in a real world setting, get direct experience, and hone their social skills in order to become quality professionals themselves before graduation.
Accounting
The accounting major covers basic accounting knowledge, professional content, and moral content. This track helps students understand how financial statements are made, how to do general accounting, and to pay taxes correctly. These students will be able to pursue a career in both government and private agencies.
Digital Business and Technology
This major focuses on developing computer skills through practical work, rather than studying in textbooks. We encourage students to get creative, inventive, and to reach their full potential with confidence and integrity in their work.
Foreign Language
The foreign language major focuses on English and Chinese language learning for effective communication. Our curriculum is intensive, thus our students can learn two foreign languages in just a few years and use these skills in practical and professional settings.
Food and Nutrition
The food and nutrition major gives students the chance to learn culinary skills from expert chefs and train at prominent 4 & 5-star resorts in Koh Samui.
Hospitality
The hospitality major teaches students how to work in hospitality at an international caliber. Our teachers have backgrounds in leading hospitality institutions and hotels to ensure our students learn the most applicable skills and experience.
Tourism
In the tourism major, students are taught to be service minded, guest oriented and team players. Effectively learning how to navigate the industry and work with international travelers in a modern and sustainable way.

Student Life According to the Dharma Eightfold Path
We divide students into 8 groups according to the principles of the Eightfold Path of which are the correct view, correct intention, correct speech, correct action, correct livelihood, correct effort, correct mindfulness, and correct concentration. Each group rotates between activities, farm-work and chores within the college.
The Royal Methodology
Our founder, Suthep Thaugsuban, embraced the principles of the royal methodology he learned through his career to teach students how to be self-reliant and truly understand the essence of the word self-sufficiency. The goal is to provide students a guideline for living life and to use this for self development, to better society, and make the country more sustainable
Student Activities
Morning and Evening Prayers
Students pray and practice meditation every morning and evening with 5 monks leading the prayers.
Self-Sufficient Farming
Students practice the traditional way of working, farming food, and self-sufficient living.
Safe Farming Practices
Chemical-free farming practices are used for the health and wellbeing of our students and customers.
Hydroponic Farming
Hydroponic vegetable crops do not use soil, are of high quality, waste free, and create income for our college. Crops that we don't sell are fed to the fish in our farm for fertilizer, creating a truly sustainable agriculture.
Raising chickens
Students care for and maintain 50,000 chickens that produce eggs for use in our kitchens and to sell across Koh Samui.
Mushroom Farming
Students plant and harvest Bhutan black oyster mushrooms and gray oyster mushrooms in our 10 mushroom huts.
Catfish Farming
Students raise catfish and across 6 ponds for purposes of studying aquaculture, sustainable farming techniques, and for sale.
Earthworm Farming
Earthworms produce fertilizer from vermicompost, that is then used in various farms in the college and as sustainable agricultural learning resource.
